Well, Sydney is truly a beautiful place, though I haven't had the chance to fully explore it. However, this place has brought to me a number of experience and fresh ideas in the short space of time i've been here. The people i've been able to meet and converse with have been absolutely phenomenal. I will always have my good old KL friends for all the fun things, and because we enjoy the same things it would be easier that way. On the other hand, through friends and joining societies and clubs, i've been able to meet a lot more other people who come from different backgrounds and have a radically different idea as to what constitutes fun, interesting, and stimulating conversation and activities.

What they provide me with is the chance to really think about issues. Whether it is one that is affecting the world, your country, or another country in the world. Whether it is political, environmental, or social issues. They take an interest in the people and the things that are happening around them. Not to say that my KL friends don't, but it is just generally not a widely discussed topic of our conversation. Here, i have found people who actually do volunteer work at soup kitchens and some shelter. As i have always have an interest in doing volunteer work, which was why i joined the Interact Club in the first place, i found their activities interesting. And they invariably come away from such work feeling fulfilled, or enlightened about some matter.

Right now, i am rather busy with my own life and being rather selfish in allocating time for doing such activities. But i do hope that one day, i will be so confident of myself and be able to lower myself from the pedestal i try to put myself on that i'll be able to reasonably join in such activities with no regrets and no excuses for missing it.
