A normal day in Sydney? Kind of, cause of the rain and peekaboo sun... Its starting to get cold, I think, cause it took me so long to get out of bed this morning... When I finally did, I spent a loooong time getting ready and reading the newspaper online... But, y'know, at least got out of bed in time for class... =)
Went for the lecture, and the lecturer started talking about what will be out in the final exams, which prompted me to count the days and what do you know, exam period's like a few days less than one month away... ooooh... shock horrors! Am I prepared enough?!! Better start soon ay...
After my tute, I went off walking down City Road, hoping to waste some time before my coffee date with Fred and Goggo... but I still ended up arriving in Otto one hour before the appointed time, partly cause my class ended early... So I figured I could just sit down and have some coffee while waiting for them... I ordered some wedges, and they turned out to be this HUGE plate and I had to finish them myself... oh God... ;) (loved it anyways)
So Fred, who's a half Italian and half French Swiss citizen, and Goggo, who's an Aussie with Yugoslavian parents, duly arrived at the appointed time... We had a good laugh about Fred and his singing abilities (or the lack of it), talked about some serious 'issues' like the useless people that are Paris Hiltons or as Fred put it, blue-eyed boys or something to that end which describes kids who was born with a silver/gold/platinum spoon in their mouths.
These two friends of mine are definitely people I admire, a lot! Partly because they are so focused on what they do and want to do, and they have seriously done a LOT for their age. Goggo's doing econs honours and hoping to get into RBA! I mean, that's like way cool or what... Fred, speaks a multitude of languages, including english, his parent's languages and japanese and spanish..., makes me jealous for his being able to speak so many languages... I'll catch up one day!
Listing what they have done with their 22 years of life would take some time... So I don't think I'll do it now, but one of Fred's proud achievement is being a part of the Swiss team who won the America's Cup (for sailing) last year... cool or what...
Why is it that I find it so hard to find the energy and the push to do all these cool things? To go out and volunteer and join all those organisations I have always MEANT to join... Perhaps I have too pampered a life? Or maybe I just lack the will and interest? Or maybe I'm just a typical Malaysian kid... Raised to think that $$ is everything... One's goal in life? To earn the BIG BUCKS... all good, but I like to think that I'm here to contribute more to society, other than just that...
How naive and idealistic I sound... but sometimes... being naive and idealistic is good...
So sue me!
