We're OLDer aren't we?

Just last weekend, before the birthday bash of a certain friend who just turned ahem thirty... (well, its not that bad... in this day and age, thirty is the new twenty!) but I digress... I met up with some really OLD friends, they are my mates from the days when we run around the school compound playing tag, randomly match up a boy and a girl and claim that they like each other, when the boys were seriously under-tall and the girls little giantesses.

In a blink of an eye, we have known each other for what? More than ten years... (couldn't be bothered to calculate the exact number of years). There are some that I've been classmates with since 7 years old, some since 10... This boy that was seriously overweight then, is now the slimmest of the guys (and pretty good looking too). There were gals who really blossomed well. And then there was the poor accountants (there were three of us)... We agreed unanimously that accountants are birds of a feather who flock together (based on personal experience). And I digress again...

What did I get from the meeting that day? (That I had to leave early from due to the birthday bash) We may go our own ways in life, perhaps never see each other for months and years, but we all need something to go back to, to help us see how far we've gone, whether its for better or for worse. I have come to the conclusion that I am probably one of the luckiest out of the people who turned up that day, how do they see me now? We came from the same neighbourhood, roughly the same background, but would our subsequent separate experiences bring us closer together or further apart?
