I, after all, have been pretty good at discovering such bags. Especially at the prices that they are available at here in Malaysia (astronomical really), one has to be really good at researching one's options.
So, if you are a gal (or a boy for that matter) who just started work after Uni. Assuming you're one of the unlucky ones at the lower end of the starting salary ladder, you'd be earning something in the region of 1,500 to 2,000 per month. (I say this because if you're earning anything less than this you shouldn't even be considering buying something so expensive!)
If you are one of the luckier ones, you'd be at the region of 2,001 to 3,500, which could be a lot (if you do not have other financial commitments) or could be nothing if you happen to have to pay for your car, your parents, insurances, petrol, tol and whatnots.
So what price range is achievable and lustable? Say you are able to save 100 per month (about 3.50 per day), in one year you'd have 1,200. At 150 p.m., you'd have 1,800 and at 200 p.m., you'd have 2,400. Quite enough for luxury shopping, if you look hard enough.
Just don't get me wrong, there are limits as to what you can get for this price but hey, if you're only after something durable, timeless and more or less enviable to the average person on the streets, it is definitely
do-able. Besides, the after sales service is pretty good ;)For starters, I give you a brand that is most commonly seen on the arms, hands and shoulders of KLites. ---> Gucci. Their bags are generally available from 1,200 onwards and are even cheaper during sales.
Like this one here, from their classic collection, will set you back about RM1,200 depending on the exchange rate it was imported at. It is available in White, Brown and Black and in seasonal colours as well. Seasonal coloured ones will be on sale, assuming it went unsold so if you're lucky, you could get your hands on one for less!
Patience can sometimes be good when shopping on a budget. =)Photo cropped from Gucci.com
