Woke up early today and I still have my shoulder ache from yesterday. Sucks! I tried to continue doing the homework that I started doing the night before but then I decided to chronicalling the night before. =p
Managed to finish reading The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Paelo Coelho last night so I started on Fashion Babylon today. Lets see how long it takes me to finish it yeah, normally on holiday it doesn't take me long cause there's nothing else to do at night besides drinking or tv.
We went for a walk around Lai Chi Kok and surrounds where there are quite a few buildings that house wholesale shops and manufacturer's offices but it was mostly for clothings. And since CL couldn't remember where one of the other building is, we had a late brunch and went back off to the city.
Decided to go see the Chanel Mobile Art exhibition at the Star Ferry Parking in Central but to our disappointment, we found out that the tickets have all been sold out only when we got there. So all we got to see was the outside of the exhibition pavillion which was specially designed by Zaha Hadid for Chanel. The exhibition will be travelling around the world after its stop in Hong Kong. But even the walk arond the exhibition pavillion awes one, cause it is this weird UFO shaped thing on top of a building that is a carpark, facing the sea (where the old Ferry Pier of Central was situated).
After shooting some pictures, we thought we might go to the bus stop next to the building to wait for the bus to the Peak but alas, after waiting for nearly half an hour, no bus came. We gave up and walked back to IFC and guess what, when waiting for the lights to cross the road into the Hong Kong Station of the IFC, we saw the bus that we were waiting for drive past us! =S
We went for a drink together at a cafe and then split up as I decided to go visit EC and FL and she didn't want to come together.
At EC's, we started planning for a dinner as some of their mates are wanting to do dinner and we finally settled on steamboat. I got to go for a spot of food shopping with EC downstairs and here is how it went. We went downstairs and turned right, walked to the end of the block and made a right again and there they were, all these market stalls selling everything one would need. We shopped for some vegetables and the stuff for the steamboat pots here and proceeded to make another two right turns to go down to Wellcome to shop for the soup and beehoon. Another right turn and effectively one rectangular walk later, we're back at the apartment to start cooking!
FL had a really funny Hongkie friend there helping her to fix her laptop who ended up having dinner with us. The dinner grew from an original 5 pax to end up with closer to 8 pax but luckily we bought too much food. After that, a friend who had pre-ordered Haagen-dazs' Chocolate fountain went out to get the fountain and the ice creams and we had seriously yummy ice cream with choc coating. I'm thinking of buying a set and bringing them back to KL now. Its so cute!
A short mahjong session later, it was time for me to go or else I'd miss the last train back to Sheung Wan.
p.s. This is the first time I have met a Hongkie who doesn't know how to play mahjong! haha!
