Software blues

I've spent the last few days looking at and reading up on a few software for SMEs and I have to confess, this is hard. What if I made the wrong choice and end up with a software that isn't really suited to what I need or want?

I wonder how the people who own like bigger companies/corporations decide on a certain software... cost? networking? I've known for a long time that the transition between softwares and even between not using software and moving onto computerised work flow is not easy. It requires a lot of time and patience in seeing the transition pay off. Many do not have that patience and end up using only about 50% of the software's capability...

Anyways I digress, being in the position that I am in, I can safely say that cost is going to be one of the largest deciding factor. So let me get to analysing them quotations...
