I finished this book a good few weeks ago, but never had the time to write about it. So here goes... better late than never right? =)
The book is written like a guide for current and future retail employees, it details the perils of being in retail and how to extract the most amount of joy and perks from the job. Although my cousin and I both found it hilarious, especially the cartoons that the writer has included to illustrate his many points, some of the situations are something that isn't applicable to our locale.
That said, it did give this girl, someone who has only ever been on the paying end of this retail jungle, a fun insight into the world of retail on the receiving end. However, many of his examples of situations and how to deal with it uses a large retailer (something in the realm of Kmart, Target, Ace Hardware) and he only references retails shops whenever mentioning events from two of his previous jobs. So this may be a good mix I suppose, except that large retailers are not as ubiquitious around here as in the US of A.
Overall, I liked the book and it is definitely recommended if you want a good laugh at human behaviour, for retailing is one industry where one's true colours shows in the most humiliating way.
