Sydney Sydney Sydney!

First day back in Sydney after 3 years! One of the most longed for if not exciting day of the year surely. And she did not disappoint…

One hour back in the city and I’m hoping that the next time I’m back I won’t be leaving anytime soon already. This really is a most beautiful city.

Lets backtrack a little, the flight was good even though my extra seat was taken by a girl who wanted to sleep and requested nicely to do so, can’t complain about that can I!

I managed to go through 2 episodes of Criminal Minds and 1 each of Cold Case, CSI and CSI:NY as well as a Japanese movie called The Black “Kurosaki” and was halfway through a Hong Kong movie when the headsets were requested back by the flight crew in preparation for landing.

The airport was exactly as I remembered it except for one part – the multistorey carpark… can’t remember if it was there the last time I came back. Now that I’m thinking about it while typing this. I think it was… the last time I came for my graduation but not during my three years here.

The journey to the city was a little slow due to morning traffic. We couldn’t check in on arrival to the apartment. So we deposited the bags and went for a walk down to Darling Harbour. For the first time in all our (my brother and I) years here, we went to the Chinese Garden. Since I had hardly slept previously I was a little tired and kind of sleepy in the tranquil garden, I kept wanting to go to a little corner and rest and was partly hallucinating that it is my backyard garden at home. Ahhhhh how nice if it is so…

Overall, the walk was nice what with today’s weather being superbly cool (I secretly think Sydney knew I was coming and made it cold, just how I like her). We then proceeded down the rest of the length of Cockle bay wharf and across the bridge into the city to TGV – now you may think this is Tanjung Golden Village (cinemas) but no, it stands for The Galleries Victoria – home of the only Kinokuniya in Sydney (and I think Australia too).

We had lunch at Wagamama but frankly found the food not too to our taste. Personally, having had Wagamama in London, the food here is definitely not as good as the ones in London. No wonder everyone prefer Ichiban Boshi upstairs.

We then went on a short shopping trip before heading back to the Apartment to check-in. I found these really nice Pumas but they weren’t available in my size anymore! What a shame!
