Trying to be cool, working or failing?

Everyone yearns to be cool, to be looked up to, to be appreciated, to be da man(woman). In reality, how many manages to be that? Many try hard of course but who succeeds? And in succeeding, are you truly cool? Or is it just an illusion?

Every generation had their own definition of cool, so does every country and community in the world. If you are cool in one, it doesn't necessarily mean you will be cool when put in a different place. So why try? Simple, we want to fit in, and being cool is fitting in. Fitting in really well, I might add.

Am I cool? Probably not by certain standards, but I'd like to think I'm cool enough in my own way. Everyone in this world probably does too. Who or what defines what's cool today? The mass media? The teenager? The fads? If you are reasonably well off or 'rich', do you automatically attain the status? Well, probably not, but you are much ahead of the not so financially well off bunch of people because coolness today is very much what you own and what you can own.
