Its now nearly the end of May, about a month more and final exams will be up on our head. Are we prepared? I certainly hope so! =)
I have decided that I will definitely pursue my interest in Japanese and French so remind me as often as possible that I have to finish sitting for all those JLPT exams... all 3 + 3 of them ok?
Now I spent the weekend doing nothing contributory to my studies except for finishing my tutorial for next week. So I guess since I still have a few hours of the weekend left, I should do something now.
But let me just ramble on about what I did in these two days first, the shopping for groceries part is mundane I suppose but I did spend a good few hours sitting at cafes. One is the George St Starbucks, where people watching can be indulged in and where you can see people walking in all directions in a hurry or leisurely towards their destinations. Dressed up and going somewhere, or dressed down for grocery shopping at the nearby market (it was a weekend day). Laden with bags after shopping or just going out. With kids or without.
The other one is a small cafe in my suburb where there's not so many people to watch but certainly more homey given its surrounded by homes anyways. People can be seen walking along the road with their groceries (Coles is a few minutes walk away), there are people walking their dogs and of course the families with kids at the cafe... talking about their lives if you care to eavesdrop...
So what's the difference between these two places? One is a chain store where you get friendly but not much service, the other is a smaller store where service is personal and just as friendly if not more friendly. The people you see in the suburb is a lot less but aren't they generally doing the same thing? Going towards a destination, performing a task or just completing a task...
So how different can a cafe in one country be from another? The language they serve you in? The location? The food? The people can most certainly be going about doing most the same thing don't you think? We are one and the same, though we may look different and sound different, we have the same goals in life, same aspirations, same difficulties, and same tasks, just to live and to enjoy and to feel happy.
So why the war? Why the disagreements? Because we are stubborn people who want to feel superior to the rest. We don't want peace, we want victory, we want satisfaction... For a satisfied person is a happy person.
Humans...
